Mother's Day Gift Guide

Hey everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY! :)

Today is a special edition of 'Friday Favorites' dedicated to you MOMS out there! What exactly should you get for the woman who has done and will continue to do so much for you?! Well, let me tell you if your mom is anything like mine, you can save the flowers (my mom hates flowers, she says they will die within days), and get her something meaningful that will last a while!

Hey lovelies!

Are y'all ready for my LAST post from our island vacation?! I'm kind of sad about it because now it's really setting in that this amazing vacation is over, even though it has been a few weeks since we were there. Going through these pictures and memories, and writing these posts to share with you guys really kept me in my vacation mode for as long as possible. I guess that just means that now it is time to start planning my next one, right? :)

I have been DYING to tell you guys about this aspect of our trip! I'm sure most of my friends, if not all of my friends and family have had a taste of Cruzan Rum at some point or another. There are so many different flavors and types, so even if you don't think you've had some, you probably have! We took a trip to the Cruzan Rum Distillery and I must say it was one of my favorite parts of our time in St. Croix.
HEY Y'ALL!! :-)

Okay, so I'm kind of bummed because I was really excited to share this super sexy and sleek bathing suit from Forever 21 with you guys, but it is SOLD OUT online already! Ah! I should have known it would be because it is so darn cute! However, you may luck up in your local Forever 21 and still be able to snag you one. I was just unable to link it for y'all unfortunately. :(
Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday!
One piece suit: ASOS (on sale now!)

Hey beauties!! HAPPY MONDAY! :)

Today, I am in Lexington, KY training for a new job that I am super excited about! I will be here for two weeks which is sort of bittersweet because I can't remember the last time I was away from my hubby for this long or just out of town by myself for that matter, but I am super excited for this new opportunity and I know the time will fly by! To help me with my homesickness, I'm still going to be reminiscing on our time spent in St. Croix a couple weeks ago! We took so many pictures and I figured the best way to share it with you guys was here on Through Jam's Eyes. I have just a few more posts from the trip cooked up for you guys so I hope you're not tired of hearing about it! :)
WOOHOO! It's Friday once again! I swear it always seems as if the weekend is so far away and then when it finally comes, it goes by so fast! I guess because we try to cram so much into two days and then we blink and it's Sunday night! What's up with that people? Let's try to make the most of this weekend, shall we?

It is so hard to believe that just last week, I was on a tropical island vacation with my better half. Laying out on the beach, Pina Colada in hand, no worries at all. We honestly could not have picked a better resort to celebrate our one year anniversary. We chose to stay at the Renaissance Carambola Resort and it was absolutely beautiful, fully equipped with their own private beach!

Okay can I please just move to the Virgin Islands?

I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and Monday. I know how Mondays can sometimes be gloomy, but we have to do a better job about embracing the new beginning, right?! I spent my weekend and Monday on the couch eating ice cream and sipping soup trying to recover from wisdom tooth extraction surgery on this past Friday. Not only did I get my wisdom teeth pulled, but I had to get four additional teeth pulled too! Ugh! Take care of your teeth people because that was definitely not fun and recovery hasn't been too fun either, but I'm gratefully on the mend!
Tropical Print Two Piece Set: Lulu's (sold out, similar styles here), Gladiator Sandals: old, similar here

Hello my loves!

Currently dreaming that I am at Coachella dancing the night away! This outfit would have been perfect for a breezy California night at Coachella. I've got to make it out there one of these years!

Happy Friday beauties! :)

Today, I want to try something new to see if it sticks. In an effort to keep Friday posts short and sweet, I want to try a new thing where every Friday I share 'five facts' and 'five favorites'. The facts will be random and the favorites will be items I have had my eye on for awhile. Leave me some feedback and let me know what you guys think!

So here we go...

Romper: Forever 21 (great deal!), Sandals: Lulu's (old, similar here), Sunglasses: Charming Charlie

Happy Thursday everyone!

I just had the BEST week of my life in St. Croix, Virgin Islands celebrating my one year wedding anniversary with my husband. I can't even put into words how perfect it was! I'm going to be sharing a lot of pictures and highlights of our trip with you guys so you can get a glimpse of all the amazing-ness we experienced, but honestly, you just need to go! I highly recommend St. Croix to everyone!
It's Our Anniversary! :)

One whole year I've been married to this hunk right here and I have seriously loved every minute. Folks always ask us, "how does it feel to be married?". Well, I say it feels amazing, yet, the same as before!
Marcus and I started as friends, dated long distance for about four years, moved to Houston together for a year, and then got married. I have to say I believe there's not too much we don't know about each other and there's not much we haven't been through. We experienced a lot before we even became husband and wife, so not much changed in our day to day once the knot was tied.

Bow-back Tunic: Charming Charlie, Jeans: old, Heels: Lulu's, Purse: Louis Vuitton, Watch: Michael Kors, Monogrammed Necklace: Eve's Addiction

Hey y'all! IT'S Thursday! Almost the weekend! :-)

I seriously love red! It's just something about a red shoe, red dress, or red lip! Super sexy, but super sophisticated. There's some colors that just give you a boost in your confidence. For me, red is definitely one of those colors! So, I decided to pair this adorable bow-back tunic with some dark washed distressed jeans and my red lace-up pumps! Let's talk about these pumps! I am IN LOVE! They are so comfortable y'all! I think Lulu's is sold out of the red right now, but they probably have other colors in stock so GET YOU SOME! :)

Now I LOVE details. Like, giving me a big statement necklace or layered necklaces and bomb earrings and I can make the most basic look pop! You can too! That's why accessories are so amazing. They make your fashion so much more versatile. If you're not into jewelry too much right now, but want to start accessorizing, I would encourage you to buy a few necklaces that can be layered or worn alone, like the ones I'm wearing in this post! Most of the things I have on are kind of old, but I've linked some similar items below for you guys!

So the occasion, I wore this outfit to my best friend Chanquilla's birthday dinner this past Friday. Chanquilla has been my best friend since we were in diapers and I can't believe we are turning 25 this year! She's always been an amazing friend to me and I am so thankful to have her in my life. She's literally one of the most selfless people I've ever met in my life and she's super smart and talented! She's the Cosmo to my Wanda and I seriously don't know what I would do without her! I LOVE YOU CHANNY! XOXO

Thank you guys so much for reading! XOXO

Olive Green Jacket: Old, similar here; Tunic: Lush (ivory sold out, but other beautiful colors available!); Leggings: Viva La Jewels Boutique; Leopard Flats: Michael Kors (old), but similar here; Tote: Rebecca Minkoff similar cheaper version here; Leopard Heels: old, similar here; Wallet: Louis Vuitton

Hey ya'll! Happy Tuesday! :)

Today's post is all about transforming a look from day to night. We all have those times when we will go to work or run errands all day and we want to be comfortable, but cute (right ladies?). THEN, later on that night, we are supposed to go out to a happy hour with our girlfriends! No time nor reason to find a whole new outfit when we can just jazz up our daytime look!
The key to nailing the day to night thing is finding pieces that are versatile. That way, you have a base. Once you have a base, you add different things to signify the occasion you're dressing for. This Lush tunic and leather leggings combination is the perfect day to night base look because they both are pieces that can be dressed up or down.
So here we go...

For my daytime look, I decided to add an olive green utility jacket and leopard flats to my tunic and leggings. I felt that the jacket made the look more casual and the flats added a fun factor. I carried my tote because I can fit my life inside of it for work. (:

Now for my night look, I really didn't add much! I just wore my leopard heels instead of my flats, and I carried my LV wallet instead of my tote. These leather leggings are so versatile that it is very easy to make them look more dressy or casual. That's why I love them!

So what do you guys think?! Have you ever put together some day to night outfits? I'd love to hear about them in the comments below if you have. Also, do you guys like posts like this? Let me know, I love feedback!

Thank you so much for reading! XOXO
