Almost 12 months later, I'm finally getting around to sharing my super fabulous and glam 30th birthday dinner party! Better late than never, right?
WOOH! 2021 was the year I turned 30!
Before I show you guys all of the beautiful details of this day, I have to just say how AMAZING this dinner was for me! I was around five months pregnant and super excited about turning 30 with my beautiful close friends and family surrounding me. We laughed, we cried, we danced to 90s R&B and I was in absolute heaven! I'm so thankful I was able to bring my most favorite people together to celebrate this milestone with me. I'm BIG on Birthday's! This was exactly what I needed/wanted.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you would already know that right after I rounded out my 30th birthday celebration in Jamaica (we left for that trip a few days after this dinner), I ended up having some pretty scary pregnancy complications and was on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. More on that at a later date, but that is the reason why I just never got around to posting about this party. My life became laser focused on making sure my baby survived. However, when I take my mind back to this beautiful day when I had no cares in the world, I just smile because I truly had the best time. My vision came together perfectly thanks to Shayla at Shayla J Creations! I showed her a few Pinterest photos and she took it from there. All I did was show up and I was absolutely blown away! I loved everything so much!
Turning 30 was very personal to me. My 20s were all about finding myself and finding my tribe. I spent way too many years chasing people, wanting to be liked and loved SO much (I'm a Type 2 personality and being a people pleaser was like TOP of my list). Turning 30 felt like a new beginning for me. I wanted my dinner not only for myself, but to show appreciation to my friends who have literally always had my back. I am more than grateful! I made monogrammed necklaces for all of my girls and my guys got some cigars from me. Both got personalized handwritten notes because I don't feel I can tell my friends I love them enough! My husband asked everyone to go around the table and make a toast to me for my birthday and that's when the tears started. Between my pregnancy hormones and just my overall emotional well-being, I was a mess! I am truly grateful for all of these amazing people in my life.
