Valentine's Day | How to Enjoy Without A Boo

Valentine's Day can really feel like the worst day ever for a single gal, but it really doesn't have to be that way. I remember being single on Valentine's Day a couple times throughout my teen years and I remember the days leading up to Valentine's Day feeling like it didn't bother me and I'd be okay. But once the day actually came and I didn't have anything to do or anyone to do it with, that's when I started feeling the "Vday Blues".

I wish I had read a post like this back then because to all of you amazing ladies out there who aren't in a relationship right now, I'm telling you that there are so many amazing things you can do to have a good time. Just because you aren't IN love at the moment, doesn't mean you can't celebrate love in general, right? I'm talking about self-love, friendship love, family love, and even pet love. There's nothing like spending time with your "Galentines" ladies.

Today, I thought I would put together some ideas so that you too can enjoy this love-filled holiday, whether it be by yourself or with friends and family! Besides, Valentine's Day is all about love... who says it has to be limited to the gushy kind?!

1. Treat Yo'Self
Spend Valentine's Day loving on YOU. Go do things that make yourself happy, whatever those things may be. You can go shopping, to the spa, get a massage, take yourself to the movies, go to a nice dinner, light a few candles and take a nice hot bath. Spend the day celebrating you and all of your amazing-ness!

2. Plan A Girl's Night In
All you need for this would be your girls, some cozy pajamas, wine, chocolate, other snacks, and movies galore. I love a good girls night in, regardless of the date! However, Valentine's Day is a good chance for you all to come together and keep each other company. Nothing beats laughter with my girlfriends!

3. Plan a Girl's Night Out
Don't want to sit at home and watch movies and gossip all night? Cool, go out! Get all dressed up in your favorite dress and heels and hit the bars with your girls. Think about it this way, if you and your girls go out on Valentine's Day, there's a great chance the single guys will be out too! :-)

4. Send Love
"Spread Love like Wildfire" is what I always like to say! Just because you don't have a boo, that doesn't mean you can't send love other people's way! Go see your Mom and take her some flowers and remind her how much you love her. Buy your best friend a nice card and go out to dinner together. Even better, you could volunteer at a soup kitchen or shelter to help those less fortunate. It doesn't get much more loving than that!

5. Fall in Love with A New Hobby
If you're anything like me, you think about starting a new hobby all the time, but have yet to do it because of various excuses. Use this day to challenge yourself to try something new. If it is something you really think you'll enjoy, why not go ahead and take the time to make it happen for yourself? Even better, get a friend to go with you and it'll give you something else in common!

Do you have any cool ideas for how to spend Valentine's Day? Share in the comments, I'd love to read them! Remember, Valentine's Day is all about love, so spread love the ways you can and don't forget to always smile.. you never know who might fall in love with it. :)
