Before we get into this guide, I just want to tell you guys that I think January is the most PERFECT time to visit Dubai. This is because Dubai is basically in the desert so their summers are HOT HOT. I mean, in the summer months it can get up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. We were told by one of our tour guides that it gets so hot that the locals there aren't really supposed to spend much time outside during that time because the heat can be dangerous to their health. So, January has the most perfect weather and the entire time it was between 75-82 degrees.
Alright, so let's get into this guide!
Where Did We Stay?
We stayed in Jumeirah Beach at the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and it was such a beautiful place. First of all, it is on the beach which is awesome. We didn't get a chance to have a beach day, but I know a beach day is always a win! They have so many restaurants and even a nice beach bar. Guess what? My husband's favorite meal from the entire trip was a chicken dish at the hotel. He loved it so much he got it twice!
The workers at this resort were so nice! I mentioned that we were there for my husband's 30th birthday when we checked in and on his actual birthday, we came back to our room and they had decorated with flower petals and they left dessert. It was so nice of them! I didn't get many photos of the resort mainly because we didn't spend a whole lot of time there, but I will say we were very pleased with our accommodations and if you would like to see some photos, you can see them here.
Where Did We Eat?
One of the best parts about staying on Jumeirah Beach was that the beachfront had a boardwalk that had so many restaurants! Some were Americanized and some we had never heard of before. As I mentioned before on my other travel guides, we aren't that adventurous when it comes to food because I have a sensitive stomach and I really don't want to chance being sick on vacation! I know some of you may be saying that eating adventurous foods is half of the travel journey, but not for me, haha!
My favorite meal from the trip was Marcus' birthday dinner at a restaurant in downtown Dubai at the Marriott Marquis Hotel called Prime68. It was a steakhouse on the 68th floor of the hotel so you can imagine that the views were EVERYTHING! My steak was cooked perfectly and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food also! We ate Italian a lot on this trip and I would say pizza was great in Dubai! One Italian place we went was called Bianca and my pizza was amazing. They put some type of garlic sauce on it and it just made it taste like heaven. They also had amazing fresh pressed juices that I couldn't get enough of. Oh! One other thing, the gelato/sorbet in Dubai was AMAZING. I have been craving this lemon and mint sorbet that I had over there ever since I have been back home!
What Should We Do?
So this travel guide is going to be slightly different than some I have done in the past because I am going to follow up next week with a post detailing an itinerary for six days in Dubai, UAE! I will be sharing how to see and do the most things for a six day trip and it will include ALL of the things we did! So for now and for the rest of this post, I am going to just share some of my favorite photos from the trip. :) Enjoy!
Have you ever been to the UAE? What was your favorite part?
