Mixed Metal Fall Look with Cabi

Let me tell y'all something, I got SUPER lucky when I shot this look because the weather ACTUALLY felt like Fall. If you're in Nashville right now, then you'll know the weather has been ridiculous here lately. I mean 90 degrees in September, why?! If I had shot this look on one of those days, I would have probably died.. so thank you God for the pleasant weather, haha!

Anyway, I LOVE this dress from Cabi! When I saw it on the runway at their Fashion Show in August, I knew it was the number one thing I had to have! The fun ruffle detailing at the bottom just screams girly-vibes to me and I just want to twirl and twirl! The material is super soft and warm, so I know I'll get some good wear out of it when the weather really cools down. Pairing it with OTK boots would be super cute too once it really gets cold!

Notice I paired this dress with gold jewelry. A couple years back, I probably wouldn't have done that because I was so afraid of the 'mixed metals' look. I love it now though especially because gold pops so much on silver/gray clothing. I feel like I've been talking about fashion rules a lot lately, but seriously don't be afraid to break them because that is when your true style will shine through. A good friend of mine and I were talking one day about what we were going to wear to an event and she was telling me that she was pairing navy blue with black and that was like super foreign to me at the time! I just felt like those two colors weren't supposed to go together, but you know what? If you wear it with confidence, you can make anything work and that is something I definitely have learned from her. She was already there with the confidence and I'm excited to say I'm getting there too, so don't be surprised if you see some navy blue and black combos here on TJE soon! (Thank you friend, you know who you are :), for the motivation to step outside the box!)

Anyway,  a little more about this look; my bag I felt paired perfectly because I mean.. it's leopard. It goes with pretty much everything. I decided to tie this look together with my black booties this time, which these have easily become some of my favorites. Who doesn't love a glitter heel?!
