We Bought A House!

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee. The Lord Lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. - Numbers 6:24-26

Hey Lovelies! :-)

I know I have been slightly MIA lately and I hope this kind of explains it. There has been A LOT going on between me getting a promotion at work, to me doing lots of traveling because of that, to the subject of this blog post! I am SO SO excited to be writing this post right now you guys! This has been a super long and strenuous process, but I am so happy to say that after months and months of uncertainty, prayers, and tears, my husband and I have finally closed on our very first home! I seriously can't stop smiling because this has been a LONG time coming.

WE GOT THE KEYS!

I'm sure it is no mystery to any of you that buying a home is a VERY hard and strenuous process. Let me just tell you that our experience was no different. We learned so much about what goes into buying a home during this process and I will soon share some of those things with you because we honestly had no clue what we were getting ourselves into! We had been interested in buying a home for about a year and a half, but I think we started seriously looking back in January (meaning we went and got pre-approved and all that jazz). This process has taught me so much about myself, about my husband, and about the dynamic of our marriage. I feel like we make an even better team now than we were going into this, and we have always made a great team. Wooh, y'all I am just so happy that the closing process is over and we can finally move in!

Now, I have something serious to say so bare with me. When you put everything in God's hands and let him lead you, I truly believe that amazing things will manifest in your life. It took us FOREVER it seemed like to find what we were looking for in our first home. I was becoming so paranoid and stressed out because I knew our lease at our apartment was going to be up on May 31st and we had not found anything by the end of March. I mean, wouldn't you freak out too?! I messed up though because I started to doubt God's ability to turn any situation around. I was like.. there's no way we will find a house and be able to close on it before our lease is up. We are going to have to renew our lease..AGAIN. Talk about disappointment.. and not just with the process, but I was disappointed in myself for all of the negativity I was feeling because I felt like I couldn't shake it.

Then, all of a sudden, I don't want to sound cliche, but it was like a light bulb went off and I instantly woke up. I had a conversation with God and I told him that I was putting it back in his hands and I was going to not worry about it anymore. Once I did that, it was like the golden window of opportunity opened up for us and everything starting falling right into place one thing after the other. We found our home on April 23rd, and we closed yesterday, which was under 30 days and that hardly ever happens when buying a home y'all, but with God, ANYTHING is possible! So loves, when God said he can make a way, we better trust and believe he can make a way! I know I learned my lesson! So many homes I thought were the one we either were too late and someone else already went under contract, or the seller didn't want to accept our offer and many other crazy things. I now know that those houses that didn't work out for us in the beginning weren't meant for us! We were meant to be exactly where we are right now and I mean, I am SO in love with our home! I mean seriously, look at our view in our backyard! SWOON!

I will share more details and pictures of our home in due time. I will be doing a post in a few days outlining some of the major things we have learned from this home buying process, but right now I am just on an all-time high and I just want to rejoice in the fact that we closed! God is so good and I truly believe everything happens for a reason and on his timing. We have so much decorating to do and projects we have ideas for and I can't wait to share all of those things with you guys! In the mean time, feel free to share any home DIY ideas you love with me! I love new ideas! :-)

Thank you so much for reading and have a great Memorial Day weekend! xo

*Special shout out to our realtor, Juanita Charles for being SO amazing through the entire process and our lender, Anthony Quail for getting us closed in less than 30 days! Y'all make a rock star team!*
