Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I can't believe that we are already into the month of May! Spring/Summer road trips are upon us and I couldn't be more excited. With my new job, I will have much more time this summer to take little weekend getaways than I have had in years! So far, I've got a few trips planned, but I'm looking forward to adding a few more to the roster. If any of you have an ideas of great places to road trip from Nashville, then let me know in the comments below!

Anyway, I decided to share some tips with you guys that I have gathered over the years from road trips. Here's some good tips I've come up with:

1. Dress Comfortably! Riding in the car for long periods of time can be an uncomfortable experience in itself, so wearing tight, uncomfortable clothing will only make it worse. Think about wearing some leggings and make sure to have a jacket in case the car temperature is cold. Also, wear shoes that are comfortable and easy to put on and off. You'll be glad when you guys stop!

2. Take a camera! Documenting the road trip will make it even more fun because you will have memories to last you forever. Plus, you never know if you and your friends see some cool photo opp on the side of the road, you can hop out and have a mini-shoot! Cellphone cameras are cool if you don't have another one, but your battery will suffer if you rely on that for photos only.

3. Plan the drivers! This is especially important if it is going to be a long trip. You want to plan out who is going to drive and for how long. That way, if anyone wants to take a nap, they will know the appropriate time to do so. Also, never fall asleep on a driver who is tired! Pull over into a well-lit rest stop if you guys all need a break at once.

4. Pack snacks and drinks! This is a big one for me! For some reason, I am ALWAYS hungrier on road trips! I don't know why, but eating in the car is just so much fun. For those of you that know me, you know I always keep some candy with me anyway, but having some chips, Gatorade, granola bars, etc. will keep your energy up while your road-tripping! Also, planning ahead for snacks is always best because buying snacks at a convenience store or gas station is always so much more expensive than Kroger or Walmart.

5. HAVE FUN! Play road trip games, stop at some cool sites along the way, create memories that only you and your friends or family on the trip will remember. One of my favorite road trip games is the one where you can't say 'yes or no'. It's really fun trying to catch people off guard and ask random questions! This game goes on for the whole trip and you're supposed to keep track of the score. I also love playing tongue twister games too! There's so many out there, so go ahead and find your favorite. :)

Let me know in the comments what cool road trips you guys have planned for this summer! Thanks for reading! XOXO
