"One day, it just clicks."

Life has a funny way of showing you who's in complete control. You think it's you.. we think we run our day to day lives, but in reality, we don't. God chooses when things will or won't happen for us and sometimes we can get so caught up in our day to day that we don't even notice some of the blessing or blocks God has placed in our lives. I've read so many posts from friends and family on social media BEGGING for this year to be over because it sucked so bad for them. Now, let me just put this out here.. I don't know everyone's story and I am NOT judging you for feeling how you feel. I mean, we lost some great ones (whyyy Prince, why?!), and I saw friends and family go through things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but I also feel that when you experience these feelings of hurt and anger, it's the best time for self-reflection.

"Oh yeah! I did that! YOU GO GIRL!"

One thing I have done for as long as I remember before a new year, besides making a vision board, is to A) write down everything I feel I have accomplished within the year, and B) everything I would like to accomplish in the new year. For me, it is extremely therapeutic to reflect on how far I've come and then set more goals for myself to achieve. Until you sit down to write out everything you've accomplished, you may forget the strides you have made throughout the year. I know I usually do until I really focus and then I'm like "oh yeah! I did that! YOU GO GIRL!" (you have to hype yourself up sometimes, trust me). Accomplishments can range anywhere from eating less junk food throughout the year to letting go of dead weight in relationships to reading more. An accomplishment is an accomplishment, no matter how big or small.

I'm excited to say that I have accomplished a lot in 2016 and I am super proud of myself. However, I've had A LOT of changes in my life this past year as well, some good and some bad, and it definitely took some serious self-reflection, prayer, and pep talks from family and friends for me to accept the difficult changes as they came. See, God always knows what is best for our lives and in order for us to truly reap every benefit he promises us, we have to let go and give him complete control and realize NOTHING happens on our time. We all truly share some of the same wishes in life. Ultimately, we just want to be happy; whether that means finding your dream job, true love, buying a puppy, drop-dead gorgeous body, or becoming famous. So when we don't feel like these things are happening for us, we can easily deem the year as the "worst year ever". We shouldn't do that guys.. because every thing we go through is a lesson from God.

"What will set you apart in 2017?"

In all complete honesty and transparency, I did not hit every single one of my goals for 2016. Some of them I came close to hitting, and some I didn't even skim the surface, but you know what? I'm okay with that. Because the things I did accomplish are all amazing things! Some, that weren't even on my list at the beginning of the year, turned out to be some of the biggest and best things that has ever happened to me. I will transfer the goals I didn't accomplish to my new goals list for the new year, and now I know what I didn't do to make things happen, so I can change it now. All blessings and reflections.

So now I'll ask you; What is going to set you apart in 2017? How will you turn it around for yourself and truly make yourself proud?

"We need to lift ourselves up, as well as lift up each other."

I encourage you guys to take these last few days of 2016 and try some self-reflection. Find a quiet spot at home, light your favorite candle, and grab a glass of wine. Sit there and write down all of your accomplishments this year and then next to that, write everything you would like to accomplish in 2017. Then, if you're like me and my husband, turn it into a vision board and hang it on the wall as a constant reminder all year long. With all of the negativity surrounding us in the world right now, taking this time for yourself is more important now than ever. We NEED to lift ourselves up, as well as lift up each other. I will be sharing some of the things I've learned/accomplished in 2016 at a later date, and feel free to let me know how this exercise has helped you.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! XOXO

Most of you already know how CRAZY I am for Christmas! I seriously can't believe it's almost here! I usually start preparing and celebrating like towards the middle of October, but I try to keep my jolliness to myself as much as I can before the holidays for most people come in. Now, it's very much appropriate for me let my Christmas joys shine through!

One of my favorite things about the holidays is listening to Christmas music... all day every day. I listen in the car, while I'm in the shower, while I'm wrapping gifts, while I'm decorating the house. I really don't need to have a reason, I just love it! I've had so many people tell me Christmas music is one of their favorite parts of the holidays too just because it is so happy and uplifting. I definitely have to agree with that, but I also love it because each song has a significant memory back to my childhood that comes out whenever I hear it and it just makes me smile from ear to ear.

So, without further ado, here are my top five Christmas albums at the moment.

#5: "Christmas and Chill" by Ariana Grande

I seriously love this album! Ariana Grande is an amazing artist as it is, so naturally I was excited to see she had a Christmas album. The songs on this album are originals so you won't hear "Silent Night" or "The Christmas Song", but they are all really good and cute songs!
My Favorite Song: Winter Things

#4: "The Classic Christmas Album" by Luther Vandross

Y'all... When I tell you that I LOVE this entire album, it's an understatement! Everything about his voice reminds me of my childhood and this Christmas album was always on repeat in my house growing up as a little girl. He will give you some Christmas classics along with some originals that will have you up dancing around the Christmas tree!
My Favorite Song: Mistletoe Jam

#3: "8 Days of Christmas" by Destiny's Child

ANOTHER Christmas classic! This album seriously never gets old! I was a true Destiny's Child fan and I would have to say this Christmas album was one of their best. Many of my friends would agree that you can listen to this over and over and over again. I love how this album has some Christmas classics on it, but Destiny's Child remixed them and made them cooler in true Destiny's Child fashion.
My Favorite Song: Spread A Little Love On Christmas Day

#2: "Ceelo's Magic Moment" by Ceelo Green

If I could split the number one spot in two, then this album would be number one also. I. LOVE. THIS. ALBUM. SO. MUCH! I was so surprised to find out so many people didn't know Ceelo had a Christmas album! I really feel like it is so underrated. If you haven't heard this album, you need to stop reading this, go download it, and then come back! :) I'm serious though guys it's really so good and it's perfect for any age group.
My Favorite Song: Baby It's Cold Outside

#1: "That's Christmas to Me" by Pentatonix

This album is BEYOND AMAZING!! Not just because of the overwhelming feeling of Christmas love you get from listening to it, but because this group is so freaking talented, it's unreal! If you've never heard of the Pentatonix, then clearly you've been living under a rock, but I'm going to need you to climb out and go listen to them! They actually have a few Christmas albums, but this one is my all time favorite. I've probably listened to this whole album 50+ times since the beginning of November. It just makes me so happy and warm on the inside! :)
My Favorite Song (so hard to pick just one): Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Well, there you have it lovelies, my top five Christmas albums! Each one of these have a special place and memory in my heart and I truly love them all, just some a TINY bit more than the others. If you haven't heard some of these, PLEASE go download them. I promise you won't be sorry. They are really good!

What are some of your favorite Christmas songs/albums? I'm always looking for more to add to my playlist, so let me know in the comments what's in your holiday music rotation!

Thanks so much for reading guys! Only 26 days until Christmas! xo
Happy Friday lovelies!

So, everyone loves whiter teeth right? I mean, I'm not a huge coffee drinker or anything, but my teeth hadn't been as white as I would like them to be and with the holidays coming up, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get some noticeably whiter teeth. So, when the folks over at Smile Brilliant reached out to partner with me and let me try their teeth whitening trays and write a review, I was SUPER intrigued.

I immediately went to their website to read up on it. I knew I had never tried any teeth whitening systems before and I heard they could be a nightmare for people like me with super sensitive teeth so I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. After reading all over their website and reading some of their reviews, I was ready to try it! Allow me to introduce you to one of my 'favorite things' for this holiday season:

That' right ladies and gents, I have tried this crazy teeth whitening system and let me just tell you... IT WORKS! This is the Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening System and i couldn't be happier with how it is turning out for me.

Guys, this is not an ordinary teeth whitening system you can get from your local store. Smile Brilliant sends you a sort of molding clay concoction that you use to make customized trays to fit your teeth specifically. Then, you mail those back to them. Within a week or two after they receive your impressions, you will get your customized trays back in the mail and you can start the whitening. They send you step by step instructions that are super easy to follow as well so really, anyone can do it.

Now, to my favorite aspect... DESENSITIZING GEL! So you know how I mentioned sensitive teeth and how I heard teeth whitening hurts so bad for people like me? I have SUPER sensitive teeth. Well, I will admit the whitening gel did cause a little bit of discomfort, but it didn't last very long at all and I"m sure it had a lot to do with the desensitizing gel. I'd say the results you'll get are super worth it. Plus, Smile Brilliant talks all about tooth sensitivity here and solutions so they had me very well prepared before I even started.

They send you your trays in a super cute travel case, so you can take them with you and whiten where ever you go. Super convenient for a girl on the go like me. I've only been using it for a few weeks so far and let's just say I'm impressed. Don't just take my word for it though, click HERE to see some of Smile Brilliant's other satisfied customers.

First Pic: before | Second Pic: After three weeks!
Now I know after reading this, you're super anxious to start your own teeth whitening journey, right? Well don't you worry my friends, I have a TREAT for you! Also, if you just want to go ahead and buy your own kit and get your holiday teeth together right now, take 5% off of your order with code 'throughjamseyes' on the Smile Brilliant site!

Sweater: Forever21 | Skirt: Soho Girl | Shoes: Michael Kors | His Sweater: H&M | His Jeans: Express | His Shoes: Cole Haan

Heyyy everyone & happy HUMP DAY! :)

It is officially the holiday season and I couldn't be more excited! This is my all time favorite time of the year. There's so much to love! Thanksgiving with family, friendly people every where, chill in the air, warm and cute clothes, buying gifts for others, baking cookies, decorating the house, and... family photos. :)

I never got a chance to share Marcus & I's Christmas pictures from last year with you guys so I thought now would be the perfect time! We had such an amazing time taking our pictures last year and we got SO MANY we loved and it was hard to choose a select few for our Christmas cards. Last years photoshoot was extremely important to me because it was our very first Christmas and Mr. and Mrs.! I know I can be corny when it comes to this type of thing, but let's just face it; I'm a nostalgic type of gal and I like what I like.

We haven't had a chance to take our Christmas pictures this year yet, but hopefully within the next few weeks we will. I've been going back and forth with the theme idea I want (yes, I love themes). Last year, the theme was Christmas shopping and then of course just being newlyweds. This year, I'm kind of stuck! I have outfit ideas, but no theme so we will see what happens. Anyway, I hope you guys have started your Christmas shopping so you'll beat the holiday rush! Thanksgiving is next week so you know it's going to be on for shopping after that. I'm almost finished with my shopping and I plan to be 100% finished by the end of Black Friday.

Let me know what you think of our pictures from last year and if you have any ideas for this year's theme! :)

Thank you so much for reading! xo
Blouse: SheIn c/o | Leggings: Viva La Jewels | Hat and Booties: Charming Charlie

This was the first time this season I was able to pull out my faux leather leggings and I seriously forgot how much I LOVE them! I have so many style ideas with them that I can't wait to show you guys! I also have a lot of style ideas for this SUPER COMFY blouse from SheIn! I can't wait to style it with a fur vest, scarves, puffer vests, etc. I love how long it is and it is very soft also! You want to know the best part? It's less than $20!

On another note, today marks 7 years my husband and I have been together and I seriously can't believe how time flies! We have never broke up, we have never really had any REALLY BAD arguments. We are so blessed to have been together seven straight years and I honestly couldn't imagine my life without him. We don't really celebrate this day anymore since we are married now, but I do always like to acknowledge it. :) So, cheers to seven years, hubs! I love you! xo

Dress and Booties: A'GACI c/o | Hat: Charming Charlie | Purse: Louis Vuitton

Have y'all had enough of my 'cold shoulder' obsession?! Because I most definitely have not. I could not wait to get my hands on this beauty from A'GACI because it still screams fall, but I get to enjoy having my shoulders out as well! This dress also comes in a mustard yellow color. Y'all know my favorite color is yellow, but when I got ready to order this, I asked my hubby which color I should get and he picked this one so here we are!

Speaking of different colors, don't you just love fall colors? Everything that has to do with fall reminds me of beautiful colors. The leaves changes, fall beverages, clothing, shoes, scarves. You name it and it will instantly make me think of beautiful colors. That is one of the main reasons I love fall so much. Three of my favorite Fall colors are featured in this look; wine, forest green, and taupe (don't you just LOVE these shoes?!).

Anyway, you guys should go shop A'GACI's fall look book right now. They have some super cute stuff that I seriously can't wait to get my hands on. Who knows, my 'cold shoulder' obsession might live on way longer than I thought! Who said I had to stop at summer?! :)

Thank you for reading! xo

Sweater: Make Me Chic c/o | Jeans: BlankNYC | Boots: Tory Burch | Purse: Louis Vuitton

Have you guys ever shopped at Make Me Chic? If you haven't, then I suggest you change that RIGHT NOW. They have some of the cutest clothes, shoes, and accessories and on top of that, the prices are awesome! Y'all know I love a good deal, so I'm always trying to find places I can get the best bang for my buck!

I'm so in LOVE with this sweater! I have to admit, when I first put it on, I told my husband it felt so weird to have the breeze on my back! After I had it on awhile though, I fell even more in love! It's so different, and it's oversized, so you really can't get any better than that! I can see myself styling this with leggings and booties, and in the winter I can layer it with a vest or cool jacket. I hope they stock more colors!

Thank you for reading! xo
Striped Dress: Romwe | Army Green Vest: Charlotte Rouse | Clutch: Viva La Jewels | Boots: Marley Lilly | Necklace: Eve's Addiction

Heyyy everyone!

Sorry I've been a little M.I.A.! I have such a love/hate relationship with this time of year. In my line of work, I always get SO busy during this time of year. We start putting in crazy hours and I find it hard to make time for my love (this blog). However, those of you who REALLY know me, you know this is my all time favorite time of year because my favorite holiday is coming!

That's right, it's October, and I am talking about CHRISTMAS already! :) For as long as I can remember, this has always been my favorite holiday and I have always started getting into the Christmas spirit extremely early. I'm sure strangers are annoyed, but my family, friends, and TJE readers embrace my jolliness and understand! Don't y'all?! :-D

Anyway, I have already have started watching Christmas movies, I listen to Christmas music in the car, I have already done a lot of my Christmas shopping and I get the urge to start wrapping gifts every other day. This is just WHO I AM and I can't help myself. I'm just really ready for the Fall weather to come and STAY because these hot days kill my vibe!

Like the day I wore this outfit, I was almost TOO HOT! I was dressed for fall, but the weather had summer plans. Oh well...

Thanks so much for reading lovelies! xoxo
