Queen, I Support You!

Hey lovelies!

Happy Hump Day!

It has been awhile since I wrote one of my "no filter" posts, but I'd say it's about time I get some things off of my chest. I always have so many ideas float into my head to write about, but eventually I end up just either drafting it or scraping it all together because I'm like "naw.. too deep Jam, too deep". Y'all know what though? This is therapeutic for me, so I'm about to start not really caring if it's too deep or not. If you rock with it, I appreciate you. If you don't, that's okay too.. you still cool in my book. :) Now let's get into this!

Girl, let's talk about support today. Something, whether we want to admit it or not, we ALL want and need at some point in our lives. Now, let's not mistake support with validation or opinions, as these are different things. When you are seeking validation from someone, it means that you are looking for an "okay" to what you're doing. You are searching for someone to say "Wow, that was a great idea! Why didn't I think of that? You're doing the right thing!" We want this because it validates that we are indeed doing good, but that's another topic for another day. The definition of support I'm going for right now is "to promote the interests of, or to argue or vote for", or in other words just show that you care.

We are in a time right now where I feel SO proud to be a woman, and not just any woman, but a BLACK woman at that. We are LIT right now in the aspect of following our dreams and aspirations. Every other day, I see a black queen on social media announcing her next business venture or something big that she is doing and I am always SO freaking excited.. whether I know her personally or not! I think it is awesome for anyone to chase their dreams, but I also think it is so important for me to emphasize to my black sisters.. I support you.

Why is it so hard for us to support each other? Why do we feel like we can't support someone who has the same goals as we do? Why do we support people we don't know more than the people we have known for years? I'll tell you why... we can most definitely be our own worst enemy! A lot of of women have the mindset that they can't support because if they do, they it'll hinder them from their own goals and that isn't true. I'm a firm believer that what God has for me is FOR ME and nothing no one does can change that. I seriously enjoy when women come to me wanting to start a blog of their own or something similar, and they ask for my help. I have always been willing to share what I know and even tell them about events and things I may go to so they can get their name out there. That is just who I am and I do understand that everyone does not have this mindset, but I think it's time we start ladies!

In the past, I used the excuse "I have no idea what she's doing" or "I'm not her target audience" when it came to showing support for my friends or people I knew. I'm just being honest! I would give them validation all day long, but was I really supporting them? No, I wasn't! At the end of the day, you don't have to be into someone's niche to support them. You just have to show up and be counted for. I'm in no way perfect, but I am striving to be more of a supportive person by showing it and not just saying it, so I hope you guys will too! Do you know how much powerful we could be as a unit if we would just support? Seriously, there's room for everyone at the top!

Let's do better lovelies. Let's show our loved ones, associates, and fellow women that we will uplift them and pray for their success and not their downfall! I want us to really support each other. You know you can do it! :)

Thanks for reading lovelies! xo
