Friday Favorites | Movie Night + 5K GIVEAWAY!

*Hey lovelies! Stay tuned to the bottom of this post for details on my 5K Giveaway!*

I'm a really simple girl when it comes to hanging out. I'm ALWAYS down for dinner and a movie, whether we go out to dinner and to the movies or... we stay in, order pizza, and watch movies all day! The latter is my preference most of the time unless there's a really good movie out I'm dying to see. I can confidently say that staying in and re watching some of my favorite movies over and over again is one of my most favorite past times. The problem is, I don't know many people who feel that way, so a lot of times I can only do this on days when I'm going to be by myself! My husband is a busy-body and hardly ever wants to just sit in the house. So if you're a cool girl who enjoys the idea of binge watching movies on the couch, please come be my friend! HAHA
Anyway, there are so many amazing movies, but I thought it would be cool if I shared my top ten favorites with you on this edition of 'Friday Favorites', and told you why I love them so much. The top three were EASY, but when it came to narrowing down the other seven, it was really hard y'all so it really isn't in any particular order! I didn't realize how many movies I loved. I had to switch it up and take things out so many times, I almost changed it to my top twenty! It really came down to the movies I will stop what I'm doing and watch every single time they come on TV. So let me just tell you guys, I worked REALLY hard on this, so without further ado...

My Top Ten Favorite Movies of All Time
  1. Love and Basketball - Let me just say that I was deprived from this movie as a child. My mom did not allow me to see it until I was like 16 years old! Once I saw it, I fell in love. How could you not?! Monica.. Que.. the love... the basketball. It's pure magic. Not to mention, my husband and I know ALL the words and act it out often. lol
  2. The Best Man - Again, another movie I wasn't allowed to see as a child, but after I saw it a few times, I realized how much of a classic it truly is! These friends are like #friendgoals for real. How many of us can say we have THAT big of a circle from college? I know I can't. The sequel to this movie, The Best Man Holiday, would have made the list if it didn't make me cry so much!
  3. The Lion King - Who doesn't love The Lion King? Anyone else get choked up every time Scar kills Mufasa? It just shouldn't have happened. I often wonder how different the movie would have been if Mufasa lived.
  4. Moana - Okay so I know this movie is relatively new, however, I'm obsessed and I can't get enough of this movie! If you haven't seen it, I think you need to pause reading this, go to the store and buy it, and watch it right now. Not only is the story line good, but the music is great also!
  5. Beyond the Lights - This movie reminds me of Love and Basketball.. without the basketball. I think that's why I love it so much. I'm a sucker for love stories and this is a gem. I don't think this movie gets enough recognition.
  6. Frozen - "Do you wanna build a snowman?!" This is the cutest movie (a lot of my favs are Disney movies.. I'm such a kid!). I was late to the party on this movie because I didn't see it in theaters. It wasn't until one of my best friend's told me I HAD to see it because it is so good. Once I saw it, I was in love with little Olaf. I actually went to see Frozen on ice.. with no children.. and no, I'm not ashamed.
  7. The Notebook - No explanation needed because... it's The Notebook. If you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT. Men, women, children (well maybe not children), everyone. It's great.
  8. This Christmas - I can watch this movie year round and I won't get tired of it at all. I want to have a family like them. They remind me of my family. The love and drama is so realistic that how could you not love this movie? The soul train line scene has me up off the couch every time.
  9. The Wood - This one should be closer to the top because this is another classic I wasn't allowed to see until I was much older. Again, a group of friends that will literally do anything for each other and they have some of the best memories. I always felt like there should have been a sequel to this one.
  10.  The Pursuit of Happiness - This movie is just a feel good movie for me. I always feel inspired after watching it like I can do any and everything I put my mind to. I love that it is based upon a true story and I really think kids should watch it so they know regardless of their circumstances, they can persevere.
  11. **BONUS** (I couldn't help myself) Save The Last Dance - Y'all this movie is a CLASSIC! I literally know all of the words and I love to act out the scenes all the time. I felt it was a great movie that showed a different side that we didn't often see when it came out. It's another love story, but there's so much more to it than that! If you haven't seen it, you're super late so I suggest you go watch it like...tonight! I think that it is on Netflix.
So there you have it! Now, all I want to do is go watch some of these movies. If I didn't already have plans this weekend, these movies would be taking up my Saturday... trust. Maybe Sunday I will throw on my duck robe and binge watch movies all day since my Hubby will be out of town. Hmm.. we shall see! :)

What does your top ten movie list look like? Was it as hard for you as it was for me to narrow it down? Leave me a comment to let me know. I'm ALWAYS down to watch new movies!
