What to Wear Wednesday | Post-Grad Wardrobe Tips

So, you did it! Congratulations! You graduated from college and now, your new life is starting. You're anxious, excited, or both about starting a new chapter and you're probably either looking for a job or you were blessed enough to get a job offer before you graduated (You go girl!). Now, there are big things you have to focus on now like; if you're moving out of state, then you have to find a place to live. If you're moving back home, you have to figure out how to get all of your stuff there. Do you have a reliable car? Do you know anyone where you're going? Most importantly, (at least to me), if you're starting in corporate America, you've got to find a whole new cute and stylish wardrobe that does not consist of sweatpants and Ugg boots that scream "I just graduated college".
There's just one problem with that though, you haven't started this new corporate job yet! You're still that "broke college student" that you were last week, except now, you have the promise of a new job. So, how are you going to not look like you just graduated college when you step into that corporate office for the first time? Well, I'm here to show you a couple places you can buy that super cute and chic corporate attire for much less than you think!

So, the last thing anyone fresh out of college really wants to do is look like you really don't know what you're doing. You want to embrace the "I'm cute, but I didn't even try that hard" look and it's not easy at first! Especially when there are so many boundaries a lot of jobs throw at you. There are different types of "work attire" and different companies require different things. Some say to look professional. That's it. So you have a wide range of things you can do with your look. Then some will tell you "business casual" or "business professional" in all black or certain colors. You don't have a lot of options with this one, but you'll find that accessorizing can go a long way!
Here's a list of retailers I believe you can find great deals on nice clothing for the workplace. It's important to always look for bargains no matter where you shop, and don't just buy the first thing you see! Look around, and you'll probably find something better and cheaper!
  • H&M
  • Forever 21
  • Target
  • J.Crew Factory
  • Dillard's
  • Macy's
  • New York & Company
  • TJ Maxx
  • Charlotte Rouse
  •  JC Penny's
  • Express
First things first, you'll need a couple nice dresses. Knee-length, shoulders covered, tasteful dresses. They are easy to put on and quite comfortable for the day. Here's a few I think are cute, tasteful, and inexpensive!

Next, you're going to need tops! When you're not throwing on a dress, you're throwing on some slacks and you're going to need versatile tops to put on with them. Here's some of my favs!

The bottom line is, you should shop around! I am a bargain shopper for sure! I will look for hours and end up finding the best deals because I don't just buy the first thing I see. I would suggest investing in some good quality dresses, slacks, and shoes to start because those will be the items in your rotation at work. Then, once you start earning those paychecks, add to it! Nine times out of ten, your co-workers aren't paying THAT close attention to what you're wearing, so you can repeat and not feel bad about it (I know I repeat outfits at work all the time)! So ladies, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Make your work looks unique and look professional while doing it!

Thanks so much for reading! XOXO
