What Drives You?

We have hit the first day of month 11 out of 12 and I seriously can't believe we are almost in 2018! I feel like we were just in May gearing up for summer and now we are almost through Fall gearing up for a very cold winter. Happy November 1st lovelies! I'm super excited for the holiday season. If you have been rocking with me for a while, you know this is my favorite time of year. If you are new around here, that's okay too. You will soon know just how jolly Jam can be. :)

I don't know about y'all, but this time of the year is all about spending time with family, eating good, decorating the house, eating good, baking cookies, eating good, and doing all of the things that make you happy (which usually includes eating good). It is super hard for me to focus on business related things during this time because all I want to do is watch Christmas movies, listen to Christmas music, buy Christmas presents, give back, bake things, and just have fun! I have to really dig deep into my bank of inspiration in order to stay focused this time of year. Do you guys feel me?

I do a lot of reflecting on the things that drive me and keep me motivated. I'm super blessed because one of the main things that keep me motivated is my husband. His drive inspires me to keep pushing and working, so I feel blessed that I am able to be around that energy every single day. Now, on those days when he's just getting on my nerves and I need something a little extra, I have to dig deeper for my other drivers in life. I wanted to share some of the things that drive me in hopes to motivate you to finish these last two months stronger than ever! Whether you're a blogger, entrepreneur, student, teacher, or any job in life in between, we can all use some drivers to keep us trucking along.

1. Having Pep Talks with Myself
When I am having days when I just feel lazier than ever, I have to have little pep talks with myself. You have to be your biggest cheerleader sometimes in order to drive yourself to keep moving. This helps me out a lot!

2. Thinking About the Bigger Picture
Remember 'why' you're doing what you're doing. There's always a bigger picture when you have a goal you're trying to reach. Sometimes the big picture can get lost when you have a lot going on and you feel overwhelmed, but you just have to stop and take a deep breath and remember the light at the end of the tunnel!

3. Positive Feedback
I love positive encouragement. When one of you tell me that you read my blog post or saw one of my Instagram posts and loved it, that is a MAJOR driver for me. It's easy to get discouraged when you feel like your work is not being noticed, so keep that in mind when it comes to other people. I have no problem telling my friends or associates when they did something great!

4. Hearing a Long Awaited 'Yes'
Lastly, there is nothing more motivating than working hard for something you really want and then FINALLY getting a yes! When that happens, you get an extra boost of confidence and think you can take over the world! In our times of self-doubt, we have to remember what it feels like to get that yes and keep on pushing girl! Time waits for no one. :)

What are some things that drive you? I'd love to hear about them in the comments! XO

Thank you for reading!

Love the accessories. Do you often coordinate your pieces to match your wedding ring? Or do you not mind mixing metals? I remember like a few years ago mixing metals was a big no-no! Just curious on your approach

    1. Hi Ebony! I used to think I had to match my jewelry to my wedding ring, but now I don't mind mixing metals at all! I feel like my ring stands alone, so I can wear any other colors with it. XO
